Woven Blooms

“VITAME VAS” or “WELCOME” to Czech Village! The three murals on the Krasny Square II buildings celebrate the color, vibrancy, and spirit of Czech and Slovak cultures, kept alive to create a joyful and uplifting experience for visitors as they enter and leave Czech Village. The mural series, Woven Blooms, was painted October 2025 by Des Moines-based artist Jenna Brownlee, selected for her ability to capture the nature, energy and heart of the Czech and Slovak heritage through native wildlife and folk textile patterns with a nod to art nouveau’s historic style.
