The Crunch Berry Run: Things to Know

  • What is the route for the event?

The route will start and end at Greene Square in downtown Cedar Rapids. Route maps are shown above.

  • Will the event be timed?

Nope! This event is designed to be a fun, interactive run/walk, so there will be no official race clock or timer. Have fun! Those who want to track their time are encouraged to do so themselves. There will be no awards or results kept of participant’s time.

  • Are children welcome?

Yes! Children are welcome. Children age four and under are welcome to register and receive a participant packet, or they may accompany a paid adult at no additional charge. A non-registered child will not receive a participant packet. Children age five and above must register. Children may be in a stroller or wagon accompanied by an adult, just remember anything you take along the course will be doused in color!

  • When and where is packet pickup?

Packet pickup will take place on Friday, September 20, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the downtown Cedar Rapids Public Library, across from Greene Square. We’ll have tables setup outside the library on the north side of the building, facing Greene Square. Please note the library will be closed at 5:00 p.m., but we’ll still be there until 7:00 p.m.

  • Is the event rain or shine?

Yes! The event will take place rain or shine. In the case of severe weather, Murals & More may cancel the event.

  • Will the colored powder stain?

The color used in this event is water soluble and environmentally friendly corn starch-based powder. The color should not stain, however it may be difficult to remove from certain types of fabrics and may require multiple washes to remove.

  • Can I bring my dog/cat/lizard/owl?

The short answer is yes, but only if you feel very, very confident they will do well in this environment. If you are unsure, please leave them at home. We have adopted the same policy as the farmers’ market. Please also consider that your pet will encounter the colored powder. We will be instructing our volunteers to avoid intentionally dousing pets with the colored powder, but it will certainly be on and around them since the colored powder will be sprayed at you.
  • What is the cancellation policy?

All registrations are final. No refunds, cancellations, or transfers.
