Cedar Rapids, Iowa—Organizers have announced the entertainment lineup for The Crunch Berry Run, on September 17 in Cedar Rapids.

The event is a non-competitive color fun run/walk, with a surprising mix of art, music, and family-friendly activities to raise money for public art in Cedar Rapids.

The main stage will feature the band Miss Christine, led by Cedar Rapids-native singer-songwriter and bassist Christine Moad, who has traveled the world from Tennessee to Monaco as a professional musician.

Additional musical artists include the funk-rock band Funkatude, an ambient/soundscape duo KVN (& STU), and the tropical sounds of Joe Perea on the Caribbean steel drum. New to the event is an emerging artists stage featuring sets from Meghan Elizabeth and Ricardo Mendoza.

Beyond music, the event will feature an interactive art experience led by local artist Julie Schafer, acts of magic by Fred Fickle, and a llama-petting zone from Prairie Patch Farm. Waiting at the finish line will be bowls of Cap’n Crunch’s Crunch Berry Cereal with milk from Dan and Debbie’s Creamery, plus an exclusive Crunch Berry-inspired treat from Fong’s Pizza. Participants can pose for a photo with Cap’n Crunch, and create their very own artistic button as a medal to commemorate the event.

Clare Duffy and Eric Hanson, from Z102.9’s The Morning Scramble will lead the program as Party Cap’ns.

The Crunch Berry Run is appropriate for people of all ages and athletic abilities. Participants can expect to be covered in environmentally-friendly colored powder as they make their way through the route, up to approximately 5k (just over three miles). The out-and-back route allows participants to turn around at any point.

The cost to register is $24 per person prior to the event, or $30 for same-day registration. Kids ages four and under can attend for free. Registration packets include sunglasses and giveaways from sponsors, with T-shirts and fanny packs available for purchase.

The Crunch Berry Run is in partnership with the Cedar Rapids Downtown Farmers’ Market and title sponsorship by The Quaker Oats Company. All proceeds from this event support Murals & More’s mission to cultivate public art in Cedar Rapids. To learn more information and register, visit crunchberryrun.com.
