Murals & More invites you to The Crunch Berry Run, sponsored by The Quaker Oats Company, an extraordinary, family-friendly, colorful fun run or walk – you choose how far you go, up to 5K!
From Z102.9’s The Morning Scramble
Fun for all ages! Strollers and wagons are welcome, just remember anything you bring on the route will be doused in color.
Go as far as you’d like on the 5k route. You may want to walk a mile, jog the full 5K, or anything in-between. Great! You can turn around on the route whenever you’d like.
Running not required! This is a non-competitive event appropriate for people of all ages and abilities.
The colored powder will get all over you. It may stain fabrics and you may have to wash your hair a couple times. Good thing you get a race t-shirt to wear!
In partnership with Cedar Rapids Downtown Farmers’ Market, The Crunch Berry Run begins at 9:00 AM on Saturday, October 2, 2021, starting and ending at the 2nd Ave Bridge in Downtown Cedar Rapids. You will be covered in environmentally-friendly colored powder as you run or walk the route! The party continues after crossing the finish line on the 2nd Ave Bridge until 11:00 AM with crunch berries, music, family-friendly activities, and of course more color!
This fun run/walk is not timed and is appropriate for people of all ages and athletic abilities.
The Crunch Berry Run is a fundraiser for Murals & More. All proceeds from this event go to support Murals & More’s mission to cultivate public art in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

A non-registered child will not receive a participant packet. Children age five and above must register. The color used in this event is water soluble and environmentally friendly. The color may stain fabrics and may require multiple washes to remove. Wear your race t-shirt for the event and other clothes that you are okay with potentially being stained by the colored powder.
The short answer is yes, but only if you feel very, very confident they will do well in this environment. If you are unsure, please leave them at home. We have adopted the same policy as the farmers’ market. Please also consider that your pet will encounter the colored powder. We will be instructing our volunteers to avoid intentionally dousing pets with the colored powder, but it will certainly be on and around them since the colored powder will be sprayed at you.
Registration may be canceled on or before 9/2/2021 (30 days before the event) and a refund of the registration cost (minus event registration processing fees) will be issued to the original method of payment. There is no refund for registration cancellation after 9/2/2021.
